We are CWSellors Fine Jewellery, A family run business based in the heart of Derbyshire. We now have 12 stores based across Yorkshire and Derbyshire, as well as our workshop where we handmake our jewellery in Ashbourne.

How did you get started in the wedding business?

As with any jewellers,  weddings are an integeral part of their client base and the giving of wedding bands have been a tradition since time began.  From a  proposal of marriage for the engagement ring onto choosing the wedding bands; gifts for the bridesmaid such as a pair of pearl earrings or cuff links for best man, and of course we offer exquisite pieces for the bride to wear on the big day, our collections offer a large variety of choice to suit all different tastes and budgets.  We often see a couple go from getting engaged to choosing wedding bands, right along to celebrating their Golden wedding anniversaries with a new piece of jewellery.

What makes your business different from everyone elses?

We feel that as a long established family business we understand our clients requirements and especially at such an important time as planning their wedding; the piece they choose has to be perfect for them individually and help reflect their everlasting love and commitment to one another which our jewellery reflects this as it designed to last and be enjoyed for the individual and generations after – and if you cannot see what you have in mind on display our in-house designer is available to discuss any ideas with you for a bespoke piece made exactly to your requirement.

What do you love most about weddings?

We love the romance and the everlasting meaning of marriage. It’s also a time when everyone gets together to celebrate such a special moment, which in our busy lifestyles doesn’t always take priority.

Any tip for brides looking at jewellery?

Just to come and see what we have to offer! Come and try our wedding bands on to see how they fit against your engagement ring, and discuss any ideas, if we don’t have what you had in mind, I’m sure we can find a way to get it!

Who are you, and what do you do?

I am Jane from Rosedale Floral Design and I am freelance wedding flower specialist ‘turning your dreams into a reality’ offering beautiful floral arrangements designed especially for you with love and attention to detail.

How did you get started in the wedding business?

I have always been passionate about flowers and had the opportunity to turn my own dream into a reality and trained to be a florist and set up Rosedale Floral Design.  I wanted to share my love of flowers and design and what better way than a wedding?  A fantastic opportunity to meet wonderful people and work in fabulous venues doing something I love.

What makes your business different from everyone elses?

As a freelance florist I am able to offer you my full care and attention without the distractions of a busy shop and offer value for money.  Every wedding is unique and precious and I am able to work closely with Brides and Grooms offering advice and inspiration ensuring the flowers reflect their personality, style and provide fabulous floral designs which are created with love… ‘your day is my day’ which is important to me and I only take on one wedding per day and my service includes moving flowers from ceremony to venue ensuring everyone gets the most possible enjoyment out of the beautiful arrangements throughout the day.

What do you love most about weddings?

Everything! I love the run up and excitement to the big day, planning the designs down to every little detail which have been especially tailored for the big day.  Getting to know the Bride and Groom and being a part of their day and best of all, arranging the flowers.  Working with beautiful flowers and creating wonderful floral designs which will add a touch of magic to a couple’s special day and be remembered for years to come.

Any tip for brides looking at wedding catering?

Get to know your florist and work with them to plan your ideas giving them as much information you can from websites, colour swatches, photos etc.  Talk to them to see what is possible and get them to detail your whole day in writing so you have a base to work from ensuring they know and you know what is required.

Who are you, and what do you do?

The Red Olive Catering Company won the Best Wedding Caterer for the East Midlands Region 2012. We serve exciting and delicious food stylishly. We can help you to organise the schedule for your wedding, set up the tables, wow your guests with innovative dishes and cure evening munchies with a range of evening food. We can also prepare and serve your drinks from the first glass of champagne to the final cocktail.

How did you get started in the wedding business?

I started as being a chef for small dinner parties and through my growing reputation and client confidence was able to expand to larger charity events. From there I met clients who trusted in my ability to cater for that most important day, their wedding! It was terrifying in those early days but now we (not I) have the experience and support to manage food, drinks and service at the highest level.

What makes your business different from everyone elses?

We listen to the bride and groom in order to tailor make a menu just for you. Our chefs love to suggest new dishes based upon your ideas and welcome you to taste the menu before your big day so that you can be confident in your caterers. Our event coordinators will work with you from the initial enquiry to your wedding and beyond to make sure that everything runs better than you could have ever expected.

What do you love most about weddings?

Exceeding wedding food expectations and serving the finest menus to a large group of people. From the canapes to the desserts, our food is designed to impress the best. We love the buzz that surrounds exciting food and drink.

Any tip for brides looking at wedding catering?

I feel that the most important part of choosing a caterer is feeling confident that they can provide what you want. This is something we are very passionate about.

Who are you, and what do you do?

We are David and Diana Golding, and we absolutely love our job as professional wedding photographers, meeting lots of new people and taking pictures all day!

How did you get started in the wedding business?

We’ve both had other jobs which have helped us to develop the skills that are so useful to us now.  At one point Dave sold submarines, and I managed shopping centres, but we both prefer working for ourselves, and what could be a better job than going to weddings and recording all the emotion, excitement and sheer enjoyment! We think we are very lucky indeed.

What makes your business different from everyone elses?

We both take pictures, but Dave is really the artistic one, and a technical wizard, and I’m the organiser.  This is a great combination when it comes to wedding photography, as it’s all about people.  Because of the experience we have photographing weddings, we are usually able to anticipate what’s coming next and help smooth the way forward.  If everyone is relaxed and happy and having a great time, then all we have to do is capture the pictures of them doing it!

What do you love most about weddings?

My favourite moment is seeing the dress for the first time!  It’s a real girly moment and there’s always loads going on at the same time, bride, bridesmaids, mum, dad , brothers and sisters – plus hair and make-up people and, of course, us!  Take note brides-to-be, it can be a bit manic in the mornings!

Dave loves the time when the groom turns and sees his gorgeous bride for the first time.  All those years of planning have been leading up to that one magical moment, and Dave tries his very best to record it for them both.  It’s not always possible, especially in churches, but we try very hard!

Any tip for brides looking at wedding photography?

It’s really important when you look at a photographer’s work that you like their ‘style’ of photography (make sure you see plenty of examples), but it’s just as critical that you get on well with your photographers personally.  We are with couples from early in the morning until late into the evening, and during that time we need to do our bit to make sure they always feel relaxed and comfortable, and able to enjoy the day without feeling hassled by their photographers! This is how we get the best possible pictures.

Any special offers for the wedding show?

Yes, we’ve put together an inclusive package which we hope has everything a couple might want.  The price is £1,499 and it includes two photographers all day, a pre-wedding shoot, an on-line gallery, a box of 150 prints, all the finished images on DVD, and a 30 page ‘storybook’ album. We’re very flexible, so if a couple wants something different, they only have to ask

Although we really enjoy working locally, we also love to travel to new venues, wherever they are!  So don’t hesitate to talk to us if you are going somewhere unusual to get married – we’ll fire up the campervan and come with you!

Who are you, and what do you do?

I’m Rowan from Rowan Tunaley Flowers and I am a wedding florist with over 10yrs experience and a successful and popular choice for couples who want classic and beautiful flowers with a twist. As a freelance florist I offer a personal service designing floral displays around your theme making your flowers truly memorable and always a talking point!

How did you get started in the wedding business?

Ever since I was a little girl I had my own garden within my Granny’s amazing garden. I have always had a huge passion for flowers and floristry was the direction I always wanted to go down. Wedding floristry is very different from day to day flowers but in both you are always making someone happy along the way, there are not many jobs where you can say that and I consider myself very lucky to do what I do!

After working in many flower shops, to most florists your wedding is just another name, number and £!! To me you are an individual and each and every couple is special and important to me. I carry out your visions and dreams and turn them into  floral works of art.

What do you love most about weddings?

The morning of the wedding! There is nothing quite like the excitement in the bridal quarter especially when the flowers arrive and the bride and maids see the flowers for the first time, often a tear is shed, of happiness….phew!!!!!

Any tip for brides looking at flowers?

Gather as many pictures, photos, colour swatches ect as possible, this can really help your florist to know just the sort of things you like and want.

Trust the florist you choose, they will have done many weddings and a good one will tell you exactly what will and wont work. And finally, its YOUR wedding! Be bold, stand out and ENJOY every minute!!!!!

We are Orange Blossom Design.  We specialise in creating utterly unique Handmade Wedding Stationery & Chair Covers­ – and have to say we really love what we do!

How did you get started in the wedding business?

Orange Blossom started as a wedding present believe it or not!

Charlotte, the designer behind Orange Blossom Design wanted to give her friend Lucy a really personal wedding present and what better way to do it that to make her wedding stationery!  Lucy got so many lovely comments about how fantastic her invitations were and Charlotte had such fun designing and making them – She’d got the bug and just had to make some more!

What makes your business different from everyone elses?

What makes us different from everyone else you say?  Every single piece of our stationery is completely bespoke.  We listen to your ideas and work with you to create pieces which are designed just for you – and that’s not even the best bit … our original design work and consultations are completely free!

Any tip for brides looking at Orange Blossom Design?

Don’t be put off if you really have no clue where to start – you’re not alone!  If this is the case we can send ideas to you.  Alternatively don’t be put off if you have too many ideas – we love ideas!

We are Go Ape, the multi-award winning forest adventure. Enjoy two to three hours in the Peak District, taking on Zip Wires, Tarzan Swings, Rope Ladders and a variety of Obstacles and Crossings, all set in the beautiful Buxton Country Park.

How did you get started in the wedding business?

Go Ape is a popular Stag/Hen activity for our primates to unleash their inner Tarzan (or Jane). The beauty about Go Ape is that it caters for a number of different target markets.

What makes your business different from everyone elses?

We take one lush, green forest and a healthy dollop of breathtaking scenery; blend with a smattering of tree-top high wires, tricky crossings and wind-in-your-face zip wires; finished off with a liberal dose of people in search of their inner Tarzan. The result is spectacular. The Go Ape experience gets the adrenalin pumping, gets people out of their comfort zones and above all (no pun intended), it’s just great fun. We hope to see you swinging through the trees soon!

What do you love most about weddings?

You find a lot of ‘love in the air’ at Go Ape. Lots of wedding proposals have occurred across our 28 UK adventures over the years and an abundance of Hen/Stag Do’s to boot. Who knows…maybe one day we’ll have a licence?

Any tip for brides looking at Go Ape?

Wear warm, comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. It’s not an activity to bring out the glad rags! Dress for the weather so bring along a mac if it’s raining! Make sure your stomach area is covered and please wear appropriate footwear with soles with good grip – it’s not a time to be getting out those expensive heels!

Who are you, and what do you do?

Hi, we’re Lorna & Corinne. We own and run Pretty Sitting, based in the spa town of Buxton, Derbyshire. We primarily hire chair covers and sashes, but have other wedding accessories available for hire. These include a wishing well, wish tree and bay trees. We also supply wedding favours.

How did you get started in the wedding business?

Pretty Sitting was established in 2011 when Corinne was planning her own wedding. We saw a gap in the market and having a passion for weddings we decided to go into the chair cover business. Our company has gone from strength to strength and we have built up relationships with local venues and other suppliers.

What makes your business different from everyone elses?

We are both passionate about what we do and have the added advantage of understanding things from a bride’s point of view. We liaise with the venue to make all the relevant arrangements so it’s one less thing for you to worry about. We transform your venue and create a beautiful environment for you and your guests to enjoy. Having dressed over 80 events in under two years we have gained lots of experience and customer care is very important to us.

What do you love most about weddings?

We love how every single wedding is different. Even when we’re recreating the same colour scheme as we’ve done before, each couple always has their own twist on things and one set up never looks identical to another. We love hearing the Bride & Groom’s ideas, such as quirky table names or clever favour ideas!

We are Paul and Gail from Stag and Hen Wear.  We have 20 years’ experience within the promotional/printing industry.  We supply printed t-shirts and costumes for all occasions, including stag and hen do’s.

How did you get started in the wedding business?

We have both been in the promotional/printing sector since leaving school and whilst working in this industry we realised that there was a growing number of people requesting personalised T-Shirts for Stag and Hen do’s as well as other events.

When thinking about your hen night choose an appropriate t-shirt/costume or theme which we can help you design for that little extra touch. From matching all the colours together so it’s perfect for your night or weekend. We offer a wide range of garments from bath robes with personalized messages and you can even have a toweling head band with BRIDE on whilst having your make up done on your big day.

We have a wide range of clothing to choose from including vests, T-shirts, hoodies, and if it’s not on our website please ask! Costumes can also be printed for that extra personal touch.  Costumes range from nurse, police and beer maid outfits.  All these can be supplied with whatever personalisation you would like adding. We have full army set, which includes skirt, personalised vests with your choice of wording, dog tag, matching cap or head scarf. Also cabin crew is a great new idea we have come up with, this includes printed top with logo and then we can personalized it with your details such as Names, Dates, Venues, etc it also comes with an embroidered scarf which looks great, fun and sexy.
